Therapy that helps you understand your stress responses, build regulation, and develop a felt sense of safety in your body and life.
Counselling in St. Albert & Online
Healing isn't just about understanding your story — it's about coming home to yourself. Through a compassionate, evidence-based, embodied approach, we cultivate greater awareness, safety, and connection so healing can unfold from the inside out.
Healing begins when we feel safe, seen, and supported.
Whatever brings you here, you do not have to navigate it alone.
I’m Christina McCarthy, a Counselling Therapist with a Master of Counselling degree (MC) and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) designation through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). I am also an experienced yoga teacher with training in trauma-informed yoga. My work is deeply shaped by embodied practices, mindfulness, nervous system care, and a belief in whole-person healing.
My path to this work has been influenced by my own deep respect for the body’s wisdom and the ways practices like yoga, mindfulness, nervous system care, and holistic healing can support us in coming home to ourselves. At the heart of my approach is the belief that healing is not just about understanding your story — it is about gently reconnecting with your body, emotions, relationships, inner resilience, and whole self.
I work with adults, teens, and couples who are curious about an integrative, evidence-informed, and embodied approach to counselling. In our work together, I offer a warm, attuned space where we can gently explore your thoughts, emotions, body sensations, relationships, and patterns with curiosity and compassion. Whatever brings you here, you do not have to navigate it alone; together, we can create the conditions for growth, healing, and lasting change.
I draw on a range of evidence-based and experiential approaches — always following your pace and what feels most alive and useful for you.

Healing that includes the whole person — body, breath, emotions, spirit, and relationships. Because lasting change often lives below the level of words.
Exploring the different parts of yourself — the protectors, the critics, the tender younger parts — with curiosity and compassion, so your whole inner system can find more harmony.
Grounded in unconditional positive regard, genuine empathy, and the belief that you are the expert on your own experience. The relationship between us is itself part of what heals.
Healing from what is already right with you. We build on your existing resilience, wisdom, and capacity as a foundation for growth and lasting change.
Building psychological flexibility — learning to relate differently to difficult thoughts and feelings, clarify what matters most, and move toward a life aligned with your values.
